Take the enviromentally-friendly options and travel by train. The S2 & S4 St. Gallen-Wattwil stops in Mogelsberg on demand. The adventure already begins at the train station and leads past various activity stations to the path.
The footpath from Mogelsberg station to the Teetop Walkway goes (100 metres altitude difference) uphill through the forest and takes about 30 minutes. An alternative path leads through the village (also about 30 min) for buggies and wheelchairs.

Other signposted hiking routes: Combine the visit to the Treetop Walkway Neckertal with a scenic hike through the Neckertal by getting off the train at a near-by station.
The hiking routes Bahnhof Brunnadern - Baumwipfelpfad (approx 1 1/2 hours) and Bahnhof Degersheim - Baumwipfelpfad (approx 2 hours) are signposted with white signs which are easy to follow.

Timetable: Check the SBB timetable for your train times. You can buy a discounted combined ticket of entrance fee and rail travel from SBB RailAway.

Shuttle-Transport: The Neckertaler Taxi can be called to take you up to the Treetop Walkway. Please call as early as possible, ideally at least 30 minutes in advance: 071 374 26 26.

By Car

The Treetop Walkway Neckertal is located at 845 metres above sea leavel. The parking areas are all signposted and are located at a distance of approx. 10 minutes on foot from the Treetop Walkway. Driving is prohibited from the parking areas up to the Treetop Walkway. Google route planner will help you find your way to all the Treetop Walkway parking areas.

If you use a wheelchair or have difficulty walking, you can park directly in front of the entrance to the Treetop Walkway. Please call us on 071 552 33 03 before you arrive. We will then be more than happy to issue you with the appropriate parking permit.

Note: Parking spaces are often scarce on nice weekends or during school holidays so we recommend coming by train.

P1 Village is a 15 minute walk
P2 Village Square is a 15 minute walk
P3 Sports centre, is a 10 minutes walk
P4 Steinwäldli, directly next to the Treetop Walkway; For wheelchair users and with appropriate parking permit only (call 071 552 33 03 before arrival).

Important: Parking on fields, grass verges and lay-bys is prohibited.


By Coach

The Treetop Walkway Neckertal is located at 845 metres above sea level. Parking spaces for coaches are available just below the Treetop Walkway. Please register in advance so that we can reserve a space. Driving the route from the car park to the Treetop Walkway is prohibited. If you have passengers in wheelchairs or people who have difficulty walking, please mention this when reserving the parking space.

Walking distance from the car park to the walkway:
P3 Sports Centre is a 10 minute walk.

The nearest campsites around the Neckertal treetop walkway are:

Campingplatz Bächli:
The 4-star campsite is located in the middle of the Neckertal, about 15 minutes' drive from the Neckertal Treetop Walkway, with an open view over the Neckertal hills. Ideally suited for tourists seeking peace and quiet. A good starting point for many wonderful hikes to the local mountain Hochhamm and to the Hochalp, with interesting round routes and biking tours. The campsite has environmentally friendly hot water and power is generated by solar energy.

Campingplatz Schönengrund:
The campsite, which is open in summer and winter, is located directly on the outskirts of Schönengrund, about a 20 minutes drive from the Neckertal Treetop Walkway. It covers about one hectare of grassland, shaded by trees. Permanent campers occupy three quarters of the area. The modern sanitary facilities are heated in winter. In summer, children can enjoy the play area. Village shopping facilities, where you can buy various items for cooking or barbecuing, are within easy walking distance.

Restaurant-Käserei Berghof (Stellplatz für Camper):
The restaurant with cheese making, garden restaurant and children's playground. The panorama restaurant with home-style cuisine, of course including cheese from the in-house cheese making as well as locally sourced meat is a delight.
Open 365 days a year. Slightly elevated, sunny location with great views. 10 spaces for motorhomes on gravel. Arrival between 7 am and 9 pm.
